Hershell died March 9, 2007 in Waynesboro, Wayne Co., MS. Obit: Hershel Wyatt Allgood, 68, of Waynesboro died Fri., March 9, at Guardian Angel Hospice Center in Marion.
Allgood is survived by his wife, Opal Allgood of Waynesboro; his mother, Aletha Jones of Paulding; two sons, Wallace W. Allgood of Waynesboro and Herbert Allgood of Heidelberg; three daughters, Paula Humphrey of Waynesboro, Cynthia Harrington of Heidelberg and Lynette Johnson of Waynesboro; a brother, Randall Allgood of Houston; two sisters, Marsha Currie of Raleigh and Myra Anderson of Stringer; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Allgood was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Wyatt Allgood; a son, Richard Allgood; and a brother, Jerry Allgood.
Allgood was born on Dec. 8, 1938 in Paulding. He was a truck driver.
Funeral services were held on March 12 at Freeman Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Lloyd officiating. Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of the arrangements.
He married Opal Sue Hull July 28, 1961 in San Luis Obispo Co., CA. Opal was born March 7,1937 in Wewoka, OK. Opal was the daughter of Ray D. Hull and Pauline Mamie Ritchie. Opal died January 12, 2010 in Waynesboro, Wayne Co., MS. OBIT: Mrs. Opal Sue Allgood, 72, a native of Yuma,OK and a resident of Waynesboro, MS died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. Allgood was preceded in death by her Husband, Hershel W. Allgood; Father, Ray Hull; Mother, Pauline Mamie Hull; and Son, Richard Allgood. She was survived by her Two Sons, Herbert (Brenda) Allgood, Heidelberg, MS, Wallace Allgood, Waynesboro, MS; Three Daughters, Paulina Humphrey, Waynesboro, MS, Cynthia (Nathan) Harrington, Heidelberg, MS, Lynette Johnson, Waynesboro, MS; Brother, Frank Hull, Fresno, CA; Three Sisters, Deloris O'Hagen, CA, Linda Rahn, Carmichael, CA, Polly Ayers, Atascadero, CA; Eight Grandchildren; and Nine Great Grandchidren. There will be no Public Visitation. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2010 from the Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro, MS is in charge of arrangements.
