832. James Wesley8 Morris (John S.7, Martha (Patsy Jane6 Allgood, John Young5, William4 Algood, Edward3 Allgood, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Muscogee Co., GA November 13, 1844. James died October 23, 1924 in Newnan, Coweta Co., GA. Obit of James Wesley Morris published by the Newnan Herald, Newnan, Ga on October 31,1924.
The remains of Mr. J. W. Morris, who died at his home on Lee Stret late Thursday, were taken to Newnan for burial Sunday morning, folling funeral servces held at the Sourthwest LaGrange Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with the pastor, Rev. D. B. Cantrell officiating. Mr. Morris had lived here for the past sixteen yers and was 77 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Morris; three daughters, Mrs. Jewel Durham of LaGrange, Mrs Annie Burnham of Newnan, and Mrs. Abbie Rape of Alexander City, Al; also by one son, Carl J. Morris, of LaGrange, and two sisters, Mrs Martha Sigermoore, of Tifton; and Miss Cordelila Morris, of Columbus. James is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newman, GA
He married Rebecca Jane Curry 1874. Rebecca was born December 8, 1849 in Harris Co., GA. Rebecca was the daughter of Marion Curry and Jane Coleman. Rebecca died May 9, 1925 in Newnan, Coweta Co., GA. James Lesley enlisted in the Confederate Armyon 25 April 1864. He was assigned to Company C., 16th Infantry Regiment, Georgia on the same day. He was wounded on 28 May 1864 at New Hope Church, GA. He surrendered on 26 April 1865.

2947 iv. Mary Pearl Morris was born April 13,1881. Mary died August 25, 1892. May Pearl is buried in the Morris Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Lee Co., AL
2948 v. Jewel Morris was born Walton Co., GA abt 1882. She married (____) Durham.
2949 vi. Abbie Morris was born 1883. She married (____) Rape.
2950 vii. Jessie Carl Morris was born 1886. He married (____) Dorrough.
