Thomas died May 14, 2004 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. OBIT: Thomas Elva Elkins was born 22 November, 1942 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. The son of Johnny L. Elkins and Doris Allene Wynn Elkins. He passed away at his home on the 14th May, 2004. Funeral services were held on Monday, 17 May 2004 at 2:00 p.m. EDT at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Salem, Alabama. The Reverend Jackie Thomas officiated the service.
He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Dorthy Jean Lamb Elkins. Four sons, Chris, Terry, Johnny, and Darrell. One adopted daughter Jennifer Clontz, his daughter's Tracy child. One sister Patricia Lewis Roberts and one brother Marvin Berkley Elkins. Seven grandchildren an four great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.
He married twice. He married Dorothy Jean Lamb December 24, 1960 in Russell Co., AL. Dorothy was born March 8, 1943. Dorothy died August 4, 2005 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL.
