Leon died January 1, 2005 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., IN. OBIT: L. Dean Reagan, 82, of Ellettsville, died Saturday.
He was born in Coal City, IN, June 25, 1922. He was the only child of Herbert and Hazel (Hochstetler) Reagan.
He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. After his discharge, he joined his father in the retail grocery business. After selling the business in 1965, Dean moved his family to Bloomington, IN. During the next several years, he enjoyed a career in retail sales, as well as becoming an insurance agent. He also owned Unique Flower Shoppe until his retirement.
He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and the American Legion post in Coal City.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Tipton) Reagan; a daughter and son-in-law, Debby and L.K. Alexander Jr.; and a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jennifer Reagan. He is also survived by five grandsons, Cortney Alexander and wife, Claire, Colin Alexander, Conner Reagan, Ryan Reagan and Cameron Reagan.
He was preceded in death by both parents and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be held at the Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association or the Berean Children's Home, in care of the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Valhalla Mausoleum.
Leon Dean Reagan and Helen V. Tipton had the following children:
