Marion died January 9,1998 in Richardson, Dallas Co., TX. OBIT: Funeral services for Cooper Carter, age 84,of Richardson, will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel of Honey Grove on January 12, 1998 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Woody Flynt officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Carter was born November 26, 1913 in Dial Community. He died January 9, 1998 at Heritage Village in Richardson.
Mr. Carter was a WWII Veteran. He was a retired principal at Richardson schools. He married Mary Evelyn Flynt in Waco, Texas on April 1, 1992. Mr. Carter's father was William Arbaces Carter and his mother is Minnie Cooper. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Carter of the home; daughters & sons-in-law, Patsy & James Benson of Wendell, Idaho, Carolyn & John Allen of Amarillo, and Virginia & Jim Duke of Austin; 8 grandchildren, Jeannie Benson, Jim Benson, and Julie Benson, Traci Allen O'Neill, Andrea Allen Fritz, Jonna Allen, and James and John Duke; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ruth Beecher of Las Vegas, Nevada.
