Hazel died August 13, 2006 in Wasco Co., OR. OBIT: Hazel Lucille Moffitt, 81, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care facility on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.
She was born in De Moss Spring on Aug. 20, 1924, the third of seven children to Marion Bert and Ilene Mae (Johnson) Hatley. She grew up in Wasco where she attended school and as a young lady lived in The Dalles.
Hazel married Raymond Phil Moffitt on Jan. 12, 1942 and has been a lifelong resident of The Dalles. She enjoyed raising her children, gardening and in her later years enjoyed being with her grandchildren and her family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Sharon and husband Gene Brock of Hermiston, Margaret Jackson of The Dalles, Katherine and husband Les Gardipee of The Dalles, and Barbara and husband Gary Barnes of Benton City, Wash.; her grandchildren, Melvin Gandee of Canby, Todd and Barbie Gandee of Lebanon, Tiia and James McLemore of The Dalles, Shanna and Josh Richardson of The Dalles, Weston and Heather Gardipee of Redmond, Carrie and Matt Meyer of Kennewick, Wash. and Charles and Jennifer Barnes of Kennewick, Wash.; fourteen great grandchildren; her siblings, Marion and Charlene Hatley of Hermiston, Bill Hatley of The Dalles, Judy White of The Dalles and Idella Fallas of Scappoose, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Moffitt and one grand son, Richard Jackson, Jr.
Viewing visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 from 2 - 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at IOOF Cemetery on Three Mile Road with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
She married Raymond Phil Moffitt January 12, 1942. Raymond was born 1020. Raymond was the son of James Thurman Moffitt and Margaret Elizabeth Grant. Raymond died 1982.
Hazel Lucille Hatley and Raymond Phil Moffitt had the following children:
