Roscoe died August 5, 1941 in Copiah Co., MS. Roscoe was buried in New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.

She married Ruby Lee Smith April 3, 1938 in Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Ruby Lee Smith Ballard, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today, May 6 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery. _ Mrs. Ballard, 84, died May 4, 2005, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 10, 1920, to Virgil Smith and Amy C. Case Smith. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Roscoe Smith and Plez Ballard Sr.; her sister, Elaine Allen; and a brother, James Elmer Smith. Survivors are her daughters, Lona Smith Waldon, of Denham Springs, La., and Joyce Ballard Smith, of Brookhaven; her sons, Plez Ballard Jr., of Collierville, Tenn., and Keith Ballard, of Brookhaven; her sister, Mildred Smith Cupit, of Brookhaven; her brother, Harold Edward Smith, of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ruby was born August 10, 1920 in Lincoln Co., MS. Ruby was the son of Virgil Smith and Amy Corene (___). Ruby died May 4, 2005 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.
