He married Mary Lou Hamilton. Mary was born March 27, 1915 in Copiah Co., MS. Mary was the daughter of Moses Hamilton and Serenca Beard. Mary died January 15, 2001 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Mary Lou Hamilton Furlow of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Furlow, 85, died Jan. 15, 2001, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Copiah County on March 27, 1915, to Moses Hamilton and Serena Beard Hamilton. She attended Sand Hill School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James Brown "J. B." Furlow; her brothers, John and Frances Hamilton; and her stepmother, Nora Beard Hamilton. Survivors are her children, Alfred Ray Furlow of Jackson, Mary Inez Denise of Ocean Springs, James Benton Furlow and Joan Ann Grone, both of Brookhaven, Stanley Ed Furlow of Lafayette, La., and Loyce Veryl Mercier and Jimmy Burton Furlow, both of Brookhaven; her brother, Harold Hamilton of Crystal Springs; her sister, Betty Lee Evans of Moss Point; and 22 grandchildren, 37 great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
James Brown Furlow and Mary Lou Hamilton had the following children:
