Maxie died February 17, 2013 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Funeral services for Maxie Malcolm Smith of Brookhaven were 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Friendship Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 79, died Feb. 17, 2013, at his home. He was born in Mississippi on Sept. 25, 1933, to Lawrence Smith and Melinda Dunigan Smith.

He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Bobbie Jean Thompson Smith; sister, Neta Faye Smith; and brother, Burnell Smith.

Survivors are his son, Randy Smith and wife, Frances, of Brookhaven; daughter, Tammy Smith and husband, Stacy N. Crosby, of Hattiesburg; sisters, Clorine Bowling and Kathleen Smith; five grandchildren, Zach Crosby, Cole Crosby, Dylan Crosby, Andrew Droak and Casey McKee; and very special friend, Elois Durr.

He married Bobbie Jean Thompson May 10, 1958. Bobbie was born February 15, 1938. Bobbie died May 28, 1995 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Bobbie was buried in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.

Maxie Malcolm Smith and Bobbie Jean Thompson had the following child:
