Neil died February 10, 2008 in Madison, MS. OBIT: Services for Neil Smith McCoy, of Madison, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Christ United Methodist Church on Old Canton Road in Jackson with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery on Highland Colony Parkway. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church, and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mr. McCoy, 61, died Feb. 10, 2008, at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Brookhaven on June 25, 1946, to Neal Frank and Ina Smith McCoy. He was the owner of Colonial Mart Shell Service Station. He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School, where he lettered in football and track. He attended Belhaven College and graduated from Mississippi College. He served in the military and lived for many years in Jackson before moving to Madison County. He established and maintained many long-term friendships which, along with his children, were an integral and valued part of his life. Survivors are his mother, Ina McCoy; son, Neil McCoy Wolf and wife Kim, of Brandon; his daughter Betsy Ross and husband Kevin, of Madison; and his grandchildren, Bella Newman and Ellie and Patrick Ross. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The McCoy House for Sober Living (Merchants and Farmers Bank).
