Ricky died April 18, 2015. OBIT: Services for Mr. Rickey Nelson Smith will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:00am at New Salem Church of Christ with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Mr. Rickey Nelson Smith, 56, of Wesson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2015. He was born on August 28, 1958 to Nelson P. Smith and Jean Smith. Rickey worked in the Automotive industry and was a member and part of the leadership of New Salem Church of Christ. He served on the Copiah County School Board and Board of Trustees of Copiah Lincoln Community College. Preceding Mr. Smith in death were his parents, Nelson and Jean Smith; son, Collin Nelson Smith and Nephew, Zachary Cox. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Vanessa Cox Smith; son, Alex Nelson Smith; daughter, Millicent Smith Porter and husband Blake all of Wesson; sisters, Nelda S. Westbrook of Wesson and Brenda S. Burgess and husband Brian of Natchez; one brother-in-law, Ben Cox and wife Dana of Ruth; one grandchild, Meridith Grace Porter. Mr. Smith is also survived by nephews, Josh Cox of Washington, D.C., Jacob Westbrook and wife Wanda of Wesson, Blaine Burgess; niece, Michelle Kyzar and husband Hayden; and one great niece and great nephew, Brianna Westbrook and Blake Westbrook.
