Earl died July 7, 2003 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Services for Earl Randall Smith of Brandon, formerly of Wesson, are 2 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday from 5-9 p.m., and Thursday from 11 a.m. - 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Mr. Smith, 64, died July 7, 2003, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. He worked for 44 years in the insurance industry. He graduated from Mississippi State University and then worked for 10 years as an inspector for the Mississippi State Rating Bureau. He also worked as the Commercial Lines Manager for Audubon Insurance, formerly New Hampshire Insurance for 33 years, before becoming an underwriter for the Underwriters Group in 2002. He served as a board member and past president of the Executive Committee of the Mississippi State Rating Bureau Board. He was a member of Mississippi Guaranty Fund Board, Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International, 1752 Club, MIUA, Mississippi Capitol Stock Insurance Association and Pioneer Insurance Club. A loyal fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Smith also enjoyed reading and was an avid golfer. Preceding him in death was his father, Martin Earl Smith. Survivors are his mother, Mildred Britt Smith of Wesson; his wife of 32 years, Becky Smith; his daughters, Leslie Hill of Madison and Penni Smith of Brandon; his son, Spencer Smith of Brandon; and four grandchildren.
He married twice.
