He married Dora Ethel Respess November 15, 1920 in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX. Dora was born April 14, 1900 in Carthage, Panola Co. TX. Dora was the daughter of Charlie Ormand Respess and Mattie D. Williams. Dora died January 28, 1983 in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX.

22542 ii. Lawrence Ray Duncan was born in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX September 18,1930. Lawrence died July 18, 2012 in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX. OBIT: Lawrence Ray Duncan, 81, of Marshall, Texas, died at home at 10:15 AM, July 18, 2012. Mr. Duncan was the son of Lawrence O’dell Duncan and Dora Ethel Respess Duncan. He was born September 18, 1930, in Marshall, Texas. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1948. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in History, Psychology and English from east Texas Baptist College in 1951. He served his county in the United States Army in Anchorage, Alaska, for 2 years. Upon discharge from the service, he was manager of the Fiat Division at Rountree Motors of Shreveport. He taught history and English at Marshall High School for 2 years. In 1960, he purchased the Rainbow Floral and remained in business for 22 years. He also opened a branch flower shop, Duncan’s Showcase Florist in the Professional Building across from the hospital. He sold the florists and moved to Dallas. There, he opened the Greenway Landscape Business for 15 years. He retired in 1993. He was in the Rotary Club and did extensive travelling. His knowledge of history and art took him all over the world.
He leaves his twin sister, JoAnn Duncan Cason and her husband, Raymond; sister, Reba Duncan Hunt; niece, Peggy Hunt Nader and husband, Ron; niece, Sandy Hunt Denney and husband, Earl; nephew, Michael Duncan Cason, Stephen Ray Hunt and wife, Kelly.
The memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2012, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall.
