William died October 6, 2008 in Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY. OBIT: William Howard Allgood, Sr., 84, of Owensboro, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. He was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church, had retired from Green Coal after 37 years, and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Mr. Allgood, enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains, watching purple martins and hummingbirds, repaired lawn motors during his retirement, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Glover and Florence Wahl Allgood, and a sister, Mary Ruth Augenstein.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ima Jean Allgood; four children, son, William Allgood, Jr. and his wife Heather, daughter, Luella Bell, son, David E. Jones, Jr. and his wife Lori all of Owensboro, and a daughter, Bonnie Coomes of Cincinnati; a brother, Roger Allgood of Panther; a sister, Josephine Vanover of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, October 9, at 2 p.m. at Crosspointe Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home from 12 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens
He married Ima Jean Peveler 1965. Ima was born October 31,1942. Ima was the daughter of Raymond Pevele and Louella Bea Spaarks. Ima died May 27, 2023 in Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY.
