She married Otha Lee Hayes. Otha was born July 1, 1900 in Franklin Co., NC. Otha was the son of Leumel Samuel Hayes and Martha Elizabeth (Betty) Hicks. Otha died July 11, 1974 in Henderson, Vance Co., NC.

Gertie Rozell Dickerson and Otha Lee Hayes had the following children:

 6073 i. Mattie Elizabeth⁹ Hayes was born January 9, 1921.

 6074 ii. Jessie Ruth Hayes was born April 11, 1923.

 6075 iii. Otha Lee Hayes JR was born June 10, 1931.

 6076 iv. James Furman Hayes (living).
