OBIT: Dorothy (Dot) Drum Bustle, 87, left her loved ones here to begin her eternal life with her loved ones in Heaven on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. Born on May 3, 1921, Mrs. Bustle was the oldest child of Clarence F. and Mary Iona All-good Drum. She graduated from Statesville Senior High School in 1937 and remained an active participant in class activities until her recent decline in health. Mrs. Bustle was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred C. Bustle; her parents; her brother, Leroy Drum; and son-in-law, Michael Setzer. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly B. Flowers and husband, David, and Sharon B. Setzer; grandchildren, David Flowers Jr., Kristi F. Lowrance (Joel), Glenn Setzer (Tara) and Gregg Setzer (Monica); great-grandchildren, Jack and Carter Lowrance, Tyler Anne and Reid Setzer. In addition, Mrs. Bustle is survived by two sisters, Ruth D. Shoemaker and Carolyn D. Beaver (Bill); a brother, Jerry F. Drum (Ruth); two sisters-in-law, Vista B. Bustle and Irene P. Bustle; long-time best and faithful friend, Doris Goforth, and many nieces and nephews whom Mrs. Bustle loved dearly. Mrs. Bustle was a member of Christ Boulevard Methodist Church. She was active in volunteering with the Respite Program, United Methodist Women and Circle Meetings until her health kept her home. After her illness confined her to home, she remarked she was also a Baptist, an ARP and a Lutheran, as she enjoyed local church broadcasts every Sunday morning. Mrs. Bustle said that she could not sing or teach, but she could volunteer and cook. Much of the family life centered around wonderful meals she prepared for anyone who wanted to join in. Her life centered around her husband, daughters and grandchildren. Though she was fortunate enough to stay home and work, she was the support and strength behind her husband in their business. She taught all who knew her a quiet but strong faith and perseverance. She loved to reminisce about when she was able to play sports, skate and run. She missed her daily walks when unable to do them any longer. The family will assemble at the Bustle family home on the Old Wilkesboro Highway, but will receive friends at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today. A private family burial will be held prior to a memorial service. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Boule-vard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Doub, the Rev. Joe Parker, a long-time family friend, and the Rev. Dr. Tom Corbell officiating.
