Floyd died November 25, 2012 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. OBIT: MERCER, FLOYD "PETE," 86, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mercer; and son, Craig Mercer.
He is survived by his sons, Mark, Kevin and Kirk Mercer; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pete was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, coach, mentor, and close friend to many, most of all he was a great father and a loving husband. He loved pets and had many active pursuits and hobbies. He taught many aircraft enthusiasts how to fly and/or build remote controlled aircraft and held different roles within the clubs.
A memorial graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at New Albany National Cemetery, 1943 Ekin Ave., New Albany, IN. Ratterman and Sons, 10600 Taylorsville Road, are handling arrangements. o
He married Jean Marie (___). Jean was born July 3, 1927. Jean died June 29, 2011 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.
