Mary died January 2, 2011 in Mecklenberg Co., VA. OBIT" Mrs. Jena Owen Moore, 89, of Chase City, died January 2, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late William Waverly and Effie Owen and was preceded in death by her brothers, Lewis, Harvey and Vic Owen and a sister, Marguerite O. Barker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and is survived by her husband of 68 years, Roy E. Moore, Sr., her children, Roy (Eddie) Moore, Jr. and Judy, Kathy M. Tucker and Roger, Michael Moore and Kay, Sharon M. Hatley and Tim, brothers, Jack Owen and Marion Owen, all of Chase City; grandchildren, Roy Moore III of Boydton, Curtis Moore and Amy of Charlotte Court House; Tammy M. Brown of Kernersville, NC; Sandy Tucker, Amy Moore, Randy Tucker, Abby Hatley, and Tina Moore all of Chase City; great- grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Lauren Moore, Holly Moore and Collin Moore, numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Brandon Ives officiating. The family received friends at Wood Funeral Service from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Dr. Suite 102, Norfolk, Va. 23502. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
She married Roy Edward Moore 1942.
Mary Jena Owen and Roy Edward Moore had the following children:
