Abraham died September 4, 2005 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN. Obit: Abraham Staggs Jr., 70, of Marshall died at 3:46 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was a timber cutter for 25 years for Pierson-Hollowell Veneer Co., and was a farmer for 30 years.
He was born Jan. 8, 1935, in Crawfordsville to Abraham Staggs and Edith Lorene Sowers Staggs.
He married Bonnie Louise Johnson on March 2, 1968, in Crawfordsville. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; two sons, Mike Staggs and wife Gena of Waveland, and Tom Staggs of Marshall; two daughters, Sally LeJeune and husband Doug of Crawfordsville, and Jennifer Link and husband Sam of Ladoga; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph N. Staggs; and one sister, Majol Lorene Staggs.
He attended Waveland schools and was a member of Byron Christian Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland, with the Rev. Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial is in Bethany Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
MARSHALL, Ind. - Bonnie Louise Johnson Staggs, 63, of Marshall, a Danville, Ill., native, died at 11:10 a.m. EST Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at her residence.
Bonnie was a homemaker and chauffeur for the Amish community. She attended ATA Airlines School, Ivy Tech and St. Mary-of-the-Woods colleges. She was a member of the Byron Christian Church. She graduated from Kingman High School.
She was born June 12, 1943, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Francis and Olive Goodner Johnson. She married Abraham Staggs Jr. March 2, 1968, at Crawfordsville, Ind. He preceded her in death Sept. 4, 2005.
Survivors include: two sons, Tom Staggs of Marshall and Mike (Gena) Staggs of Waveland, Ind.; two daughters, Sally (Doug) LeJeune of Crawfordsville and Jennifer (Sam) Link of Ladoga, Ind.; two brothers, Harlan Johnson of Danville and Donald Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Sue Martin of Florida; and nine grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph Staggs, and one grandson.
